Hongkong.

Government House, Hongkong, 26th October, 1904.

With reference to your Confidential Despatch of the 17th ultimo, I have the honour to inform you that the local Agents for the Captain and Owners of the S.S. "Mascotte" presented on the 29th August last a claim of £192 15s for detention of the Steamer for 34 days, and that the claim has been met by this Government.
